Membership Fees

At De Amstel, members pay an annual membership fee. This gives you access to our extensive fleet, ergometer and strength-training facilities, rowing instruction and all other club facilities.

New members pay a pro-rated membership fee for their first year, depending on the number of months remaining in the membership year. A one-time joining fee also applies. The membership fee includes the mandatory annual contribution to the Dutch rowing federation (KNRB).

As a new member, you will receive a €25 voucher towards the purchase of rowing clothing at Roeigoed.

All amounts shown are for one membership year. The membership year runs from 1 October through 30 September. The mandatory KNRB contribution is included in the total amount.

Payment and direct debit

You only pay membership fees from the moment you actually start rowing.
When registering, you give permission for automatic direct debit.
Once your registration had been processed, two SEPA direct debit mandates will be created.
These mandates must be signed and submitted to the board's mailbox next to the entrance of the clubhouse.
The annual membership fee will subsequently be collected automatically every October.

Family membership

Do you row with several members of your family?

The following arrangement applies:

A family never pays more than 200% of the base membership fee.
Each family member still pays:
- the mandatory KNRB contribution;
- the one-time joining fee.

Joining during the membership year

If you join between October and February, you pay the full annual membership fee.

From March onwards, the following rates apply:

The mandatory KNRB contribution, joining fee and any temporary increases are always charged in full.

Membership as an Amsterdam City Pass holder

De Amstel participates in the Amsterdam City Pass scheme run by the Manicipality of Amsterdam.

City Pass holders aged 55 and over can take advantage of our facilities and activities at a substantial discount on the membership fee.

Introductory period

The first three months of your membership are an introductory period.* This gives you time to discover whether De Amstel is the right club for you.

If you decide during this period that the membership is not what you are looking for, you may cancel your membership during the introductory period. Your membership fee will then be refunded, less an administration fee of €100.

To do so, send an email to siraterces.[antispam].@amstelroei.nl no later than 14 days before the end of the three-month period.

*This arrangement applies only to first-time memberships. Full terms and conditions can be found in Article 7 of the Club Regulations.

Youth introductory month

Especially for young people aged 11 to 17, we offer an introductory month with 8 rowing sessions for € 50.
