| De 13e Ergohead: wie durft!!?? |
 Voor de dertiende keer twintig minuten beuken op een ergometer is vragen om moeilijkheden. Alleen de echte bikkels verwachten we aan de start. En natuurlijk aan paar onoplettende roeiers die niet op de getalletjes letten. Mooi zal het wel worden. En jij kan erbij zijn. ('English version below')De Amsterdam World Ergohead is een indoorroeiwedstrijd die voor alle categorieën, junioren senioren, mannen en vrouwen geroeid wordt als een afstandrace over 20 minuten. Wie de grootste afstand aflegt in 20 minuten, wint. Alle deelnemers eindigen tegelijkertijd. De wedstrijden zijn ook voor het publiek en deelnemers zeer aantrekkelijk. U kunt de roeiers van dichtbij aankijken en hun pijn en inspanning “horen”. Daarnaast wordt het wedstrijdverloop via grote projectors in beeld gebracht. U ziet de onderlinge verschillen in afstand maar ook in close up de roeiers in de zaal. De roeiers zien op hun kleine beeldscherm de tijden van de deelnemers direct voor en achter hen, zodat zij hun positie in de strijd kunnen bepalen. Kortom, fanatiek of toproeier, hier moet je bij zijn! Om de races nog spannender te maken looft De Amstel een prijs van € 1.000,= uit voor het verbreken van een wereldrecord. De prijs wordt in vier categorieën uitgereikt: licht heren, lichte dames, zware heren en zware dames. De wedstrijden vinden plaats tussen ongeveer 9.00 uur en 16.00 uur. De entree voor toeschouwers is vrij. Eén week voor de wedstrijd wordt op deze site het definitieve programma gepubliceerd. De wedstrijd vindt plaats op zondag 24 januari 2010 in het studentensportcentrum USC aan de Boelelaan in Amsterdam. De wedstrijd valt onder het KNRB reglement. In de wedstrijdzaal staan 26 Concept2 Indoorrowers naast elkaar opgesteld. Voor meer informatie zie www.amstelroei.nl/ergohead
The 13th Ergohead: are you up to the challenge? The Amsterdam World Ergohead is an indoor rowing competition for all categories: juniors, seniors, men and women. It is a distance race over 20 minutes. He/she who covers the longest distance in 20 minutes, is the winner. All contestants in a heat finish at the same time. The competition is highly enjoyable for spectators and contestants alike. You can watch the rowers from nearby and get a feel for all their blood, sweat, and tears. At the same time you will see how the competition progresses on big projector screens where the differences in distances covered by the rowers is shown. The rowers know their position in the match as they see on their own small screen the times of the contestants directly before and after them. So, if you’re a rowing fanatic or a top rower, don’t miss out on the Ergohead Amsterdam! To make the races even more exciting, De Amstel offers a € 1,000.- prize for breaking the world record. Prize money for beating the world record is given in the following categories: Male Heavyweight, Female Heavyweight, Male Lightweight, Female Lightweight The competition takes place between 9.00 a.m. and 4 p.m. There is no admission charge for spectators. The final programme of the World Erghohead will be published on this site a week in advance.
The World Ergohead will take place on Sunday 24 January 2010, in the Student Sport Centre USC on the Boelelaan in Amsterdam. The competition falls under the KNRB (Royal Dutch Rowing Federation) Rules. In the competition hall, 26 Concept2 Indoor Rowers are lined up.
